Discovered at a Virginia Beach contest by Neil Blender and Lance, young Mike Vallely was invited to join the Powell-Peralta team.
Mike quickly became famous as one of the top street skaters. After initially rejecting the Roach graphic, Vallely worked closely with VCJ on a theme featuring elephants. Mike and his elephant deck became very popular.
Mike now runs Street Plant, a 100% family-owned and independently managed company. "100% independent skateboarding for love and fun. No rules, no divisions, no schools. Just a skateboard as a paintbrush and the world as a blank canvas. Skate. Create. Have fun!"
