Stefano Barbizzi: conquers the World of Downhill Skateboarding.

On the downhill roads of the Philippines, in an adrenaline-filled race, Stefano Barbizzi wrote an indelible page in the history of world downhill skateboarding. Yesterday, February 25, 2024, he forcefully grabbed the world title of this breathtaking discipline, bringing home the glory and making Italy's name shine in the world of skateboarding.

Stefano, the pride of the Boardstyle team, demonstrated extraordinary courage and skill that took him to the top of the most coveted podium in the downhill skateboarding scene. This victory is not only the fruit of individual commitment, but the culmination of years of hard work, support and collaboration from his family and from the entire Skateboard community of Limbiate and Senago.

His adventure towards victory began already in the qualifying on Saturday 24 February, when he placed third in the timed qualifying, demonstrating promising talent and impeccable physical form. The race, about 2,5 km long downhill, saw the participation of more than 80 riders from all over the world, but Stefano proved to be the best, overtaking all his opponents. During the celebrations in the Philippines, Stefano was not alone. Next to him was his beloved wife, Cristina Brao, and our other athlete Alessio Damato, all accompanied by the coach of the FISR Federation, Matteo Dell'Orto, as well as president of the ASD Sbanda Brianza of Olginate, place of Stefano's training. Stefano's award ceremony was an unforgettable party, a moment of joy and pride for everyone.

Stefano is now preparing for another great challenge: the Rollergames which will be held in Italy in Tortoreto in Abruzzo from 17 to 22 September 2024. Here, he will proudly bring his new status as downhill skateboard world champion, ready to defend his title and continue to inspire skateboarders around the world.

After about a decade of commitment and sacrifice, Stefano has finally managed to reach the top of the downhill skateboarding scene, demonstrating that with passion, dedication and love for this sport.

In this moment of triumph, it is important to also thank the Italian Roller Sports Federation (FISR) for their constant support and commitment to promoting skateboarding and other related disciplines.

Who would have thought that that brave young man who launched himself down the first slopes at Montestella in Milan would today dominate the world of DownHill skateboarding with the same audacity and passion? Stefano has proven that greatness can arise from modest beginnings, and now, on the roof of the world, he continues to inspire us all with his determination and success.
